Can you replace just the motor on window panel of 1996 chevrolet pickup or is it more trouble ?

Can you replace just the motor on window panel of 1996 chevrolet pickup or is it more trouble? Window motor getting weak and want to save a few bucks so thinking of just replacing the motor and not the regulator... Anyone performed this task before that can input on this?|||Hello Sam. Yes, the window regulator motor can be replaced separately. I suggest purchasing a GM original part. They are more expensive, but are strong motors. If the regulator assembly is in good condition, then replace the motor. Call your local dealership for parts availability, and to find out if the motor comes separately or as an assembly. If the parts dept. says the motor is discontinued, purchase and install the aftermarket choice. The aftermarket motor will come with a warranty also. Good luck and peace.|||I would check out my friendly local auto recycler... If the motor "is getting weak" as you say ,the regulator might be soon to follow. Myself ..I wouldn't bother with this problem in this way, I'd trash out the electrics %26amp; put a handle on it,for about 5 bucks %26amp; a very little labor. Heck the scrap value of the motor %26amp; a ?working regulator would b a fair swap for a pair of sporty handles,,,,so when the other side passes on..You won't have to open your wallet !
