My chevrolet blazer lights and radio go off or go very dim when I break, what is causing this?

My 1999 Chevrolet Blazer's headlights are always dim and get even dimmer when I touch the break, the radio basically goes off for a second everytime I touch the break. The power windows also cause this problem in the radio. I need some help figuring out whats wrong.|||I've seen a vehicle do something similar. How old is your alternator? The alternator produces usable voltage for your vehicle to use to power the radio, lights, windows, engine, etc. The problem that I've seen before turned out to be a weak alternator. You can take your alternator to any big name auto parts store and they can test your alternator, and usually for free. It sounds like when you use your brakes/windows, the current draw on a weak alternator could cause your lights to dim or electronics to even lose power momentarily! Good luck!|||Id say its your alternator. You can test this yourself or easily take it to an auto parts store and they will a lot of times do a test for free. If you dont want to take it there try this. First of all your car electronics run at12 volts. Your alternators job is to charge the battery while driving to supply all your cars electronics with power. This means that the alternator has to be running at over 12 volts to charge and keep everything running. So put the car in nuetral and look on your dash at the volt meter. When the cars running in nuetral see what the volt meter is reading, if its 12 or below you should replace the alternator. Press the gas and see if the meter goes up at all. if your alternator is running good it should run around 14 volts idleing and almost 15 volts when you step on the gas. If its not doing this id say you need a new alternator|||check the belt . ground from battery . its possible alternator . also consider put stronger alternator

if you have sound system big speaker change for regular . or bigger alternator
