What different engines would work in a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe?

I have a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe 4WD that I am planning on putting a rebuilt 5.7L motor in. I was wondering if there was a possibility of putting anything different than the 350 5.7L? Any help would be fine.....Also if not, could anyone possibly tell me some good upgrades to add as well.|||It all depends on what modifications you want to make. Your options are limited only by your budget. You could go big block, or newer LS series motor very easily.

But the 5.7L 350 is one of the best motors made. You can do a lot to make more power out of one. Again it all depends on you budget. Since the motor is out being rebuilt a better cam will give you the most bang for your buck at this stage. Better heads would do wonders too. Followed by headers, and a cat back exhaust, and a specialty tuned computer to make it all work right together.
